These days WhatsApp media files are overwhelming due to wide usage day and night which almost occupy one-third of the storage space in our devices. Except for WhatsApp statuses, other media chats and conversations with Photos, Videos, Gif files, and Stickers remain in the device forever until re-located or deleted, the existence of these files will gradually reduce memory of the phone.
For this reason, WhatsApp users usually delete unwanted chats and conversations every day to retain the memory for upcoming chats. But what if you want a conversation with media files either from a specific contact or from whole chat list users to be saved.

How to Backup WhatsApp Photos, Videos and GiF Files?
WhatsApp does have the facility to create a backup of WhatsApp data in Settings ->Chats->Backup, however, this backup copy will contain both text chats and media files, and the same can be accessed only by re-installing the App again and cannot be accessed directly from the file location.
After several attempts to download all the photos and videos of one of my friends found this simple way, So to download photos and any other media files of your WhatsApp contact separately just follow the below steps.

How to Backup WhatsApp Photos, Videos and GiF Files?
WhatsApp does have the facility to create a backup of WhatsApp data in Settings ->Chats->Backup, however, this backup copy will contain both text chats and media files, and the same can be accessed only by re-installing the App again and cannot be accessed directly from the file location.
And if you want the media files separately to be saved to PC then this default feature will not help. Though we have other third-party applications online to extract the data from the backup copy generated from WhatsApp settings, we don't recommend the usage of third party applications to avoid a data breach.
Creating a backup of all the WhatsApp media files is no wonder, You don't have to create a backup because it is already created and distinguished with a different folder name, just navigate and re-locate.
- Step 3: Copy the folder and paste the same to external storage to create a backup of all the data.
How to Take WhatsApp Photos and Videos of One WhatsApp Contact Chat?
Even though the data were categorized into different folders for photos, videos, audio and voice notes in the above method, However, it doesn't group photos and videos separately based on each contact chats.After several attempts to download all the photos and videos of one of my friends found this simple way, So to download photos and any other media files of your WhatsApp contact separately just follow the below steps.
- Step 1: Open WhatsApp -> click on Chat tab - > open the chat window of the contact whose media files have to be downloaded.
- Step 2: At the top right corner ->click on the dotted icon and then More > Export Chat
- Note: This facility to "Export Chart" is currently enabled only in Mobile App, WhatsApp web doesn't have this facility.
- Step 3: -Click on Export Chat > A new window prompts with two options Without Media and Include Media, Tap on "Include Media" and then wait for a while to initialize the transfer.
- Step 4: Now a new window with several transfer medium to choose will be displayed, select any transfer medium such as Wifi, Bluetooth, Wifi Direct, Cloud, OneDrive, etc and then transfer.
Once the data transfer is complete the chat with media files of the specific contact can be accessed from the new location and then saved separately.
