How To Activate Do Not Disturb in Indian Mobile Networks

It's really very much annoying whenever you receive unwanted telemarketing calls and mobile networks service subscription calls at a very busy schedule.  Now you no need to receive any such calls and SMS, simply activate DND service and stay free from unwanted telemarketing calls.

Remember:  Registering with DND will never affect your services such as Bank SMS alerts, Online booking confirmation SMS, and Online accounts security notification SMS and Social media SMS alerts, etc.

How to Block Unwanted Services Subscription Calls From Mobile Service Provider
Mobile Service providers will offer several different services and ask us to subscribe through calls and SMS by pressing some keys or reply through SMS with a certain number, but in some cases, even an accident click can cause the subscription to the services and will be renewed automatically following the next month without the prior notification or permission of the customer.

Block Unwanted Telemarketing Calls and SMS            
  • To block unwanted services subscription calls from the mobile service provider, call your customer care of your mobile service provider, and block them.
    • Aircel Customer Care Number - Dial 111
    • Airtel Customer Care Number - Dial 123
    • Bsnl Customer Care Number - Dial 123
    • Docomo Customer Care Number - Dial 121
    • Idea Customer Care Number - Dial 111
    • Uninor Customer Care Number - Dial 121
    • Vodafone Customer Care Number - Dial 121
  • You can also set communication preferences by 
    • Blocking both calls and SMS (or) 
    • Blocking Calls alone.
Note: Subscription de-activation will take up to 7 days for complete de-activation until then you will get some calls and SMS be patient.

How To Activate DND to Block Telemarketing Calls
          According to TRAI(telecom regulatory of India) customers of any mobile service provider can register their mobile number with DND renamed as NCPR(National Consumer Preference Register) for de-activation of unwanted telemarketing calls.

Check your mobile number current Status in NCPR directory: Click Here to Check Mobile No Status in NCPR

If your number has been registered in NCPR directory you no need to worry about unwanted telemarketing calls, if not call 1909 from your mobile (or) send SMS START 0 to 1909 to block all categories of telemarketing calls. (Note: 1909 is completely toll-free)


To block specific telemarketing calls category :
  • Send SMS START 1 to 1909 to block banking/insurance/credit card/finance related calls
  • Send SMS START 2 to 1909 to block Related Estate/land related calls
  • Send SMS START 3 to 1909 to block Education related calls
  • Send SMS START 4 to 1909 to block Health 
  • Send SMS START 5 to 1909 to block Goods & Automobiles
  • Send SMS START 6 to 1909 to block Entertainment related
  • Send SMS START 7 to 1909 to block Travel/tourism etc.
Note: If you wish can also de-register all the above services by sending SMS STOP to 1909 to receive telemarketing calls.
