Other Ways To Shutdown/Restart/Log off Windows PC Using CMD

If you are a newbie to "Microsoft" Operating System then by default you will be using Icon's to shutdown/Log Off/restart any different version's of Microsoft Windows PC, but it is better to know some other Alternatives to do such operation's, From this tutorial, you will know how to shut down your Windows PC without using default user-friendly Icons.

Default Option:
  1. Start->Shutdown
  2. And you're done.
Alternative option using Command:
  1. Start->Run->Cmd
  2. Type "shutdown" in the open command prompt window
  3. A list of various choices that you can do with the command will be listed down: (Refer Image Below).
  4. Type "shutdown /s" to Shutdown your computer
  5. Type "shutdown /r "to Restart your Windows PC
  6. Type shutdown /l" to Log off your computer
  7. Type "shutdown /a"to Abort the shutdown process before the timeout  
  8. Type shutdown to know more choices in the system shutdown process
It's better to know some alternatives even when the existing application is a butter-smooth to use with. These commands would be helpful in some situations when windows file crashes or returns an error.
